Google and Facebook agree to help each other face a potential antitrust lawsuit

Google and Facebook have pledged to help each other if they face an investigation into their agreement to work together on internet marketing, as this piece of news is based on an unedited version of the lawsuit brought against Google by 10 US states last week.

Facebook and Google struck a deal in 2018 whereby Facebook agreed not to compete with Google’s internet marketing tools, and in return, Facebook would receive what could be described as “special treatment” when using those tools.

The lawsuit states that Google and Facebook knew their agreement would lead to antitrust investigations, and a Google spokesperson added that the allegations made in the lawsuit were inaccurate.
